Fashion Mob Rocks!

Here are just a few pics of the incredible fashions featured at the Alternative Fashion Week’s Grand Finale Fashion Show held at a warehouse in the Franklinton Arts District.  Ten designers shared their lines specifically created for this event in an eclectic array of fashion and music.  I was amazed that the Fashion Mob (comprised of only a handful of young ladies!) could pull this week-long extravaganza together in a little over 6 months!  Kudos to them!  And they had an audience of well over 600 for their grand finale!  The few glitches they encountered did not even begin to overshadow their success and they were even featured in Fodor’s Top Reasons to visit Columbus!

“Columbus clothing designer Kelli Martin—easily spotted thanks to her tattooed arms, shock of blonde hair, and spunky personality—proved a popular contestant on Project Runway‘s fifth season. Still a darling on the local scene, with a label dubbed Anti.Label, she heads up the 10-designer collective Alternative Fashion Mob, which will launch the inaugural Alternative Fashion Week this June 1-9. AFW’s activities include pop-up boutiques, workshops, receptions, and of course fashion shows. And for $25, you a VIP seat at the Grand Finale…including a swag bag!

Insider Tip: Substance, a local boutique, repurposes last season’s garments into fresh new items, while its second “Lofts” level is dedicated to clothing, accessories, scented candles, and more by local indie artists.”

I was pleased to be a sponsor of this event and to have taken part in a few of their activities!  I’m sure that next year will be bigger and better!
