There is quite a bit happening in the Cowtown this weekend so let’s take a look at some of the events I know about!
The Hot Jazz and Cool Ribs Fest is happening at the riverfront again this weekend. I have loved this event for years!!! Great music and yummy food. Although I am a veghead and don’t do the ribs portion of the fest, there is still lots of delicious food available for me to sample like roasted corn and, hopefully, Whole World Pizza’s broccoli burgers (gastronomical delight!!) I know that Tammy Perakis Wallace (artistic lady!) will be singing at 9 p.m. on Saturday with Honk , Wail and Moan at the Jazz Cafe. The Columbus Idea Foundry (CIF) will be hosting their Summer Open House on Sunday from 1-4. Join them for tours, live demos, make-and-take projects, and a showcase of artwork, craftsmanship, and special projects by the talented CIF members & studio residents. Meet instructors, check out up coming classes, and mix & mingle with fellow Makers over complimentary refreshments.
Hands-on projects include woodturn & laser engrave your own pen ($25), carve your own pewter-cast trinket ($5), or build a gorgeous living terrarium ($25).
Plus demos of their new 3D printer from IC3D printers and demos of our laser cutter & engraver, CNC, and plasma cutting! And the public debut of the “shy” robotic flower interacive sculpture by Jennifer Deafenbaugh of the Itty-Bitty Studio.
The Open House is free & open to the public, though RSVPs are requested, visit here:www.columbusideafoundry.com/summeropenhouse
