Get Your Party on at CrestFest

This year’s CrestFest is August 24, 2013.
CrestFest is a South Clintonville Street Party.
The street will be closed from 8am to 11pm.crest fest

CrestFest, a celebration  of the Clintonville/Crestview area community,  started out as a block party/potluck 4 years ago with some of the neighbors on Crestview. It grew a bit the first two years, and then last year, Art Party  signed on, bringing vendors, more kids’ activities and changing it from one block to encompass 4 streets.
Art, music, family…all are included in this year’s event.  There will be a live stage, an accoustic stage, karaoke, and lots for everyone in the family to participate in.

CrestFest is super kid-friendly this year- there will be  an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, kid’s karaoke, and a stretch of closed off street for playing and bike riding. AND there will be  fantastic and creative art activities from the art partners at Art Party.

So many local businesses are contributing to the fun.  One example is Mama Mimi’s  donation of 5 pizzas again this year for the raffle  (small world as I worked with the owners’ child when they first started their business!!!)

RAFFLE TICKETS!!! Bring address labels to make filling them out a breeze!  The raffle pays for the kids bounce house/obstacle course.  Raffle tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5. Buy as many as you want, since there are always lots of prizes…last year there were over 70!! Thanks to neighborhood businesses, you’ll find lots of gift cards to be won. Winners don’t have to be present to claim their prizes.

The Dream Thieves will be one of the many bands  performing (on the Crestview Stage at 4 PM!!) Be sure to check out the event page for the band schedule.
In addition to the food, music and art, community members have chosen to paint a mural at the intersection of Crestview and Calumet.
crest mural  All artistically  inclined people who would like to help out with the painting of the mural are welcome to join in the creative process!
The intersection will be closed from 7AM Saturday to 8PM Sunday.  Painting of the mural begins at 7AM until approximately noon. Stop by if you want to help transfer the art work to the painting on the mural or stop by and watch the mural unfold!
