After being swamped for the last few months with the Falling for Local show, a quick trip to Florida (NOT a vacation!) and sundry other events like frying my laptop, I wanted to do a brief update about the folks I have featured so far on my blog and give you some info on what is coming in the near future for me and others!

Kelli Martin– made her trip for a much deserved vacation with her sister to CA, returned home and created 2 lines of clothing, one for HighBall and one for TRAUMA. Her team won 3rd place in HighBall Couture .competition and her ‘Barbie’ doll line at TRAUMA was a big hit! She has also been asked to critique a fashion design class next week and is still teaching at Indianola Informal School. Next up for the Fashion Mobster is supporting Rock for the Cure and beginning work on the Black Friday event. http://www.youtube.com/user/AltFashionMob
Walter Herrmann– Walter has been a very busy guy (as always!). He completed his annual Fire on the Water and his work intense commissioned Sharon Fire. He just returned from the Chicago SOFA show where Duff Lindsay asked him to show some work for his gallery. He will also be in an invitational in the Carnegie Gallery with 17 other artists curated by Stephanie Rond, a one day invitational show at Tacocat on NOV 23rd and had his work in a ceramics invitational in Sharon PA. Right now he has work in the juried exhibition at the Cultural Art Center, called “YOU CALL THAT ART”. (a 100 anniversary celebration of the NY armory show in 1913). On tap are 2 solo shows: one at Image optical in May and the second is the Cultural Art Center in 2015. Then next summer there will be a repeat of Water Fire Sharon again. Meanwhile his work will also be on display for another year or so at the AMA motorcycle museum. Wow! Busy man!!!
Chad Cochran– Chad’s body of work continues to grow and grow! He has had several shows in the Cleveland area and another of his photos was featured in Midwest Living. He also has a show coming up here in Columbus: “the sky is falling” with the opening reception on Saturday, December 7 at 6:00pm at Max the Salon, 640 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43215. In December(the 6th, 7-10 p.m.), I will be hosting my own little girls’ night out Artys Fartsy Shopping Party at my home featuring several local artisans to encourage friends to shop locally. I will feature more info about this soon, too, but if you are interested in details, let me know!
