A show unique to Columbus’ past, present and future.
Each of the 36 participating artists will use a steel Lustron house panel to create work for this exhibition ranging from photography and illustration to sculpture and installation. These houses were a very ambitious answer to the post WWII housing shortage for returning GI’s. Manufactured in Columbus from 1948-1950 becoming instant pop-culture icons as an early example of modular architecture. The Lustron was ahead by decades in innovation and green living space while keeping to minimalist mid-century design aesthetics.A Benefit for the Whitehall Historical Society
& The Lustron Preservation Society. ( Reception: March 30th 1-5pmHosted by Brian Reaume / Birchwater Studios
