“According to a 2012 study conducted by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America, “Columbus area arts and cultural non-profits generate $226 million annually for the local economy — three times the economic impact from Ohio State sports.” Clearly the arts are a major component of Columbus’ identity, even if the national perception hasn’t caught up.” (CA article, April 3 2014)

During April 2014, Wild Goose Creative will feature an exhibition by artist Stephanie Steele. It features a series of portraits and body figures that capture the human image in a moment of transition or transformation. The images capture the possibility of sudden loss – how quickly can our identities be wiped or washed away?

In addition to the artwork, Stephanie Steele is preparing some of the artifacts of her creative process to showcase as well. Please join us for a gallery reception on Sunday April 6, or see the artwork throughout the month of April at Wild Goose Creative, located at 2491 Summit Street.
