This weekend the place to be is Franklinton for Independents’ Day, 400 Days, Alternative Fashion Mob’s Fashion Show (and more!) and Columbus Idea Foundry’s Open House…so much to see and do!!! There is more than enough to keep you busy ALL weekend.
Oh and in addition to all of these fun happenings you can still take in Christine Guillot Ryan’s Converging Boundaries at the Cultural Arts Center; Stephanie Rond’s Dangerous Impermanence at Fort Hayes’ Shot Tower Gallery and Ashley Pierce’s show at Lindsay Gallery in the Short North.

There will be: 5 stages of music and performances; films; Street Food Fair; Ohio brews, wines and Brothers Drake Meadery; Strongwater Food & Spirits (a full restaurant and bar located at the center of the festival! Stop in for a meal or a drink anytime during the day!); Rehab Tavern (offers a full food menu and an extensive draft list!); soon-to-open Land Grand Brewery will be offering samples of their beer throughout the day on Saturday, and Actual Brewing’s pop-up coffee shop(open at Dinin’ Hall, located at 400 West Rich, throughout the festival); a fashion show and more from Alternative Fashion Mob; a chef competition, Craft Alley featuring tons of talented folks and their wares…holy moly, check out the website to see all the fun there is to be had!!!

The Alternative Fashion Mob will also be screen printing T-shirts on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 1-5 with a fashion show featuring local designers at 7 p.m at the ramp on West Chapel. They will also have a booth selling AFM decals and shirts to raise money for their soon-to-be FABRIC resource center in Columbus Idea Foundry. Catch me screen printing on Friday evening!!

The Columbus Idea Foundry will be open to the public during the Independents’ Day Festival, now held in Franklinton! Check out this great community festival and stop Saturday noon-9 pm and Sunday noon-6 pm. Our artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs will be showcasing and selling the work they make and do, there will be special Independent’s Day programming by the Alternative Fashion Mob upstairs, check out the facility, watch tool station demos and make-and-take activities, meet instructors, register for classes, and even check out our version of a carnival game… with drones.
