Gallery Hop, Art Show Openings, Bazaars…This Weekend Will Be Busy!

So much going on in and around Central Ohio that you cannot even say there is nothing to do this weekend!

First Friday Walk-A-Bout


5-8 p.m.

first friday lancasterIf you feel like getting out of town to see some art and have some fun, head south to Lancaster on Friday for their first summer Walk-A-Bout.  The museums and galleries in town along with The Decorative Arts Center and Art & Clay will be open with fun activities like a scavenger hunt, art projects, music, popcorn and more for FREE!

Join Kristin as she shows some of her amazing ceramic sculptures at Clash Gallery in Dayton, OH for the “Alice In Wonderland” show Friday June 5th. The show goes from 5-10 p.m. at 521 East Fifth St., Dayton OH

Tommy Q Gallery & MOUTON Present Brian Reaume: A Celebration of Pride and Friendship. A show and sale of art. Opening reception Friday, June 5th from 6-9 pm. Come meet Brian, have a cocktail, and consider an art purchase.

The Roscoe Room invites you to join them for TRAVEL, a group fine art show exhibition. Come out Friday June 5th for the opening reception from 7pm-10pm to have some fun and support the Columbus Art community. Invite your friends and family to join and vote for the exhibition opening award, The Roscoe Award.
The show will also be on display through June during normal Roscoe Room hours.

Hubbard Mastery School

Saturday June 6th

9 a.m.-3 p.m.


The Hubbard Mastery School is hosting a Bazaar on Saturday, June 6th from 9am-3pm, to coincide with the Short North Yard Sale. Find all kinds of treasures, new and vintage including books, clothes, furniture, jewelry, candles, coats, kids and baby clothes, toys, puzzles, wallets, wristlets, and so much more made by local artisans.
There will also be a raffle of  a huge prize at 3pm that includes items from many of the vendors, plus tickets from CAPA – Your Columbus Association for the Performing Arts! Raffle tickets are only $1 each and all money benefits our PTO.
PLUS! Stop by and pick up a Lemon ShakeUp, some Cosmic Kettle Corn, some cotton candy from Joy’s Fairy Floss, and grab a bite from Native Eats, and eat and snack while you check out the yard sales throughout the neighborhood!
Vendors will be set up inside the school and outside on the playground.

Then on Saturday evening,  there is the monthly Short North Gallery Hop and here are a couple of highlights:

Rivet Gallery

Saturday June 6th

Rivet welcomes Columbus artist Patrick Wayner for his solo exhibition titled Against The Grain. This show will feature 3D art created using a scroll saw, in addition to a variety of wood working tools. All patterns being hand-cut and independently applied as well as color and hand-brushed line work were applied using multiple mediums.
Artist and Opening Reception will be held Saturday, June 6 from 7-10 pm. The exhibition will be on display through June 30. Contact Rivet with any interest in the artwork or additional information about the artist/exhibition.

Unoccupied: Laura Weiser

Stone Village Gallery

Saturday June 6th

On Saturday, June 6 from 5 – 7 pm, Stone Village Art Gallery welcomes local artist, Laura Weiser, and her new exhibit, Unoccupied. The exhibit is a collection of recent drawings and encaustic paintings inspired by architecture’s potential to be a vessel for memory and the idea of home as shelter and sanctuary. Using both illusionistic image making and abstraction the places are filled with apprehension, recollection, and imagination.

Starting this Saturday June 6th


All new works will be shown at Short North Tavern for the month of June! No official opening will be happening, however please stop by and enjoy some tater tots and a cold beverage while checking out the new stuff. The show begins at June’s Gallery Hop Saturday!
