Painting Classes with Joe Lombardo

The Spring session includes 5 classes: 2/18, 2/25, 3/3, 3/10, and 3/17
This 5-week Painting and Drawing Studio Class will cover painting in large scale. We will complete one large painting over the five-week period. Each class begins with a painting demonstration advancing the large painting into the next step. After demonstration students continue to work on their own large-scale painting with individual instruction. Students will develop control and build confidence in working large.
Week 1 – Thumbnail Design, Tone, Reduction, and Drawing
Week 2 – Block-In – “Round 1”
Week 3 – Round 2 – “Fill”
Week 4 – Round 3 – “Clarify”
Week 5 – Round 4- “Finishing touches”

A Love Letter for Aminah Robinson

Join the King Arts Complex as they celebrate the life and legacy of one of Columbus’ greatest Visual Artists, Aminah Robinson. The MacArthur Genius Award winner is also known for her work within the African-American community of her Near East Side neighborhood of Poindexter Village.
The King Arts Complex is proud to display multiple pieces of Aminah’s work so current and emerging artists can be inspired by her work year round.
This event is free and open to public.
