Object Permanence: Continued Existence Through Art

Wild Goose Creative

Thursday

6:30- 9:30 p.m.

wild 1

Wild Goose Creative gives you an opportunity to be a part of the art in this experiment in community catharsis through public art.
The Premise:
We all own objects that own us. Their old love letters. Her old tooth brush. His favorite pen. The collar that does not jingle anymore. While these things are a part of our history, we can’t always carry them into our future. But we can’t throw them away.
So where do they go?
The Action:
Bring those things you need to part with—but can’t throw away—and have your history transformed into art. Everyone will share (or choose not to share) the story of our item and leave it behind to be transformed into an art piece that we will construct as a team. The finished work will be placed on public view on the plaza at the Wexner Center for the Arts from 3/8-4/8 as part of a collective sculpture project. Together, the participating arts organizations’ sculptures will spell out “Junk Dada,” a nod to the Wex’s current exhibition, “Noah Purifoy: Junk Dada.”
Additionally we will compile the story of each item to make up the story of our communities cathartic release.
