Glass Axis

St. Patrick’s Date Night

Your Irish (or non-Irish) eyes will be smiling when you see the beautiful glass art you create.
Join us for the hottest date idea in town, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!  Grab a partner and make a gorgeous glass shamrock or 4-leaf clover paperweight in our glassblowing studio.  Stay and browse through our exhibits and enjoy some light refreshments after your lesson is complete.

Start your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with our glass sculpting classes.
Classes are available until all slots are filled. Classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited.
Our skilled instructors will be available to guide you through the steps to make your special creation in molten glass.
Sculpted Shamrock Paperweight:$75
or 4-Leaf Clover $75
Participants must wear all-cotton clothing and shoes that cover your entire foot.  Long hair must be tied back.
Your glass creations need to cool down slowly, so you won’t be able to take them with you right away.  Your unique, hand-made art will be ready for pick up beginning before March 17 unless you take the class on the 16th.
Plus, stop by any time our gift shop and gallery are open to browse our current gallery exhibition and glass art in our gift shop from local artists.   Check here to see when we’re open.

A group of women artists ( including moi!) coming together across perceived boundaries of ethnicity, age, spiritual beliefs, religious traditions, socioeconomic status, genres, and mediums to create collaboratively. Don’t miss it!
400 Days
400 West Rich

400 DAYS has fast become one of the hot spots during Franklinton Fridays. Each month we offer shows with two featured artists upstairs, as well as other activities and shows in the promenade and around the building.
This month join us for a wonderful evening featuring the art of Brittni Stump whose textile pieces incorporate whimsical items in a vast array of colors, and Tona Pearson whose subdued watercolor pallet mixes playfully in the space. Both artists are tenants at 400 West Rich Pearson in her third year, Stump in her first.
This month’s Promenade Gallery will be host to an open show featuring new and old works by current 400 West Rich artists.
Franklinton Arts District Gallery

Join the Franklinton Arts District at the Urban Scrawl Gallery during Franklinton Fridays on March 11th as they  feature the art of Loren Collins! The opening will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m on March 11th and will be on view until Monday, April 4th (by appointment).ABOUT THE GALLERY

Come out to the 1st ROSCOE REVOLUTION PARTY and be ready for the next 2! There will be food, music, and extra special deals on artwork to support buying and renovating a new home for The Roscoe Room. The Roscoe Room artist studio and gallery is being displaced by its current landlord to make room for a restaurant and bar. Suzanne Gallagher is the owner and featured artist of The Roscoe Room along with an award-winning artist that resides in Olde Towne East. Suzanne looks forward to your support in finding The Roscoe Room a new home while trying to stay in OTE!

Dozens of light and fluffy puff stitches combine to make this visually mesmerizing hat. And the best thing about it? It’s super easy and fun to make. Join me at Yarn It and Dash in Grandview for a workshop and create your very own Alessia Bubble Wrap slouch.
Learn and practice the crochet puff stitch to make a slouchy beanie with TONS of texture. Original TL Yarn Crafts pattern provided FREE with class purchase. Max 5 students.
*This class is for Advanced Beginner crocheters, meaning you should already be comfortable with the chain stitch and double crochet.
Crafting Artist Statements and Biographies: Walter Herrmann

Directly following Day of Arts for All, VSA Ohio hosts a free careers in the arts workshop at the Westerville Community Center on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 2-4pm. Led by local artist and arts administrator Walter Herrmann, this year’s workshop focuses on crafting artist statements and artist biographies that truly convey yourgoals and intentions as an artist. Whether you’re a new artist or a veteran in the field, artist statements are constantly evolving and changing as you grow and develop… see how you can make your artist statement work for you as you apply to shows and seek grant funding for projects. Workshop is free but spaces are limited.

Wallace Peck: Works on Paper

Open Door Art Studio and Gallery presents their first show of 2016:Wallace Peck: Works on Paper, the latest body of work created by the locally-renowned artist. By returning to his original mediums of choice – charcoal, graphite and pastel, this work provides the perfect balance between the raw and the intuitive qualities of his earlier pieces and the artistic refinement he has found in recent years.
Opening Reception will be held Saturday, March 12th 2016 from 5-7 PM with the show on view until April 1st, 2016.
