Creative Babes

Pinot + Poems

Milo Arts

Wednesday March 30th

7-9 p.m.

One should always be drunk. That’s all that matters…But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you choose. But get drunk.–Baudelaire
We believe that the word poet can be defined as any “maker/do-er and arbiter of expression.” Join Creative Babes for a spirited evening of wine and making/expressing as participants shape words out of the ordinary stuff of our lives. Images glimpsed during morning commutes, words written on the back of our hands, grocery lists, or the sliver of night sky through the rearview mirror–it’s all fodder for our creative practice. Through a variety of creative strategies we’ll transform the heartbeat of our ordinary lives into written art. Wherever you find inspiration, let’s make something beautiful.
This particular event is for women only.
Tickets include 2 glasses of wine. Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable via EventBrite.

Henry Hess: Opening Reception

Lindsay Gallery

Friday April 1st

6-9 p.m.

Henry Hess is no ordinary teenager, he is an extraordinary artist who just happens to have autism. Henry has a long time obsession with movie musicals… classics like The Wizard of Oz, Singin’ in the Rain and Mary Poppins. He easily spends six to eight hours a day drawing the characters, cutting them out and surrounding himself with them. His memory for detail is amazing and his drawings really capture his love of these movies.

LOCAL IS BEAUTIFUL– by Peace+Love+Bling casts a spotlight on local jewelry designers and gives them a presence to sell in the Short North.
PLB’s  first designer is my friend and one of my fav jewelery artists, Vintage vamp by Teresa Morbitzer. Yay! Teresa brings new energy to cast off vintage treasures by creating new, contemporary and very wearable earrings, necklaces and bracelets.
Teresa shows at nearly 30 juried art festivals nationally so LeAnne is thrilled to showcase her work locally. Come to the new Peace Love Bling Girl Cave in the Short North on Friday, April 1st for a reception honoring Teresa. Sip champagne and shop before LeAnne buys it all! <no joke>

In addition to our Friday opening, plan to spend some quality time on Lincoln Street. Annette Poitau’s new exhibit opens at the Marcia Evans Gallery as well as a new collection opening at the Sharon Weiss Gallery.

About LOCAL IS BEAUTIFUL by Peace+Love+Bling: The purpose of this effort is to provide a rotating showcase and sales opportunity exclusively for local jewelry artists, which is located within the Short North location of our first flagship boutique.
It is PLB’s  goal to support the talent and passion of these artists by giving them exposure and generating sales to local shoppers as well as the thousands of visitors that frequent the Short North.
With the exception of 20% which is donated to a local charity empowering women and families, all the proceeds from sales go directly to the artist.
