Friends from outside of Franklinton – you’re also welcome to join in and help paint some decorative elements for the installation! IN ADDITION: Come view some incredible artwork by our Franklinton neigbor  and prolific self-taught artist, Larry Logan!

Chalk About It Family Festival

The Greene

Beaver Creek OH

All Day event – 10am – 10pm
• Artists at Work 10am – 4pm
• Kid’s Activities and Scavenger Hunt 12pm – 4pm
• Live Band and Block Party – 5:30pm – 10pm

On May 21, 2016 this exciting event brings performance, fine & public art together to strengthen our local community by talking about mental illness. Come vote for your favorite chalk masterpiece!Benefitting Life Essentials and mental health awareness!
Street painting (chalking) has its roots in 16th Century Italy, when artists who adorned the churches were finished with a project, they would take to the streets and recreate the art in chalk for a living. Nowadays, images can be of anything, ranging from reproductions of great masterpieces to photos to 3D anamorphic art that tricks the viewer.
Using only pastel chalks (which are environmentally friendly), artists will transform the streets and sidewalks at The Greene into living art. Watch art come to life as every
piece of work created with a uniqueness that can never be truly duplicated.
Take part in a family scavenger hunt and a kid’s chalking area. Wind down with a block party in the evening. The event will support Life Essentials’ unique and specialized programs that enable seniors and people living with mental illness to have a greater quality of life.
