Mid-July=Franklinton Fridays, Cultural Arts Center, Westerville Arts Fest…Lots to Do!

This is later than usual but I have been very busy in Florida getting work done on my new house and have not had the time!  I apologize in advance if I have not covered all there is to do this weekend.  Sorry to say I will miss most of it as I travel back to Ohio:(

Join  400 W Rich for a family friendly event to benefit Franklinton Gardens! As well as indoor and outdoor interactive projects, you can view and purchase art from our open group show (for info on how to participate: https://www.facebook.com/events/1698694543751231/ ). There will be food trucks, and raffle prizes, tasty libations, information about programming from our friends at the Franklinton Gardens, and wonderful live acts. In an effort to expand the fun for more people,  this is a TWO DAY EVENT!! Doors will be open during the day on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. to give the community more of a chance to grow together.

 D’Art Dash 5k Run/Walk

Everyone’s favorite gallery cat is back and ready to lead Dublin Arts Council’s second annual D’Art Dash 5k Run/Walk! Inspired by D’Art the Dublin Arts Council (DAC) gallery cat, this 5k will raise funds to support DAC’s arts and arts education programming and our mission to engage the community, cultivate creativity, and foster life-long learning through the arts.
Thecostume contest is back this year with chances for children, adults and groups to win great prizes. Create a costume inspired by your favorite artist or piece of artwork, and show up ready to flaunt your fashions. Costumes are optional, but certainly encouraged!
Strollers will be allowed on the course for this family-friendly run/walk. Well-behaved dogs on non-retractable leashes are also welcome.
Registration is open now at runsignup.com/dartdash5k and includes t-shirt (size and availability guaranteed until two weeks prior to race day), race bib with timing chip (if timing is chosen), finisher’s award ribbon and costume contest entry for those who choose. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finisher in each of nine age groups.

Homemade: Pop-Up Museum

What is a pop-up museum? It is a temporary show created by the people who show up to participate! The arts center names the theme and you bring something that is related to the topic. It’s that simple! This pop-up show’s theme will be “Homemade” so please bring something handmade or homemade to share at the event! Light refreshments will be provided. Participants will have a chance to participate in an Ohio State Research Project.
