Pop Up Art Showcase Featuring L’Andrae’ Bradley

Start Gallery Hop with a beer at Elevator Brewing Company’s 13th Floor Taproom as they are hosting a fun, pop-up art show, and as always their EBC classic brews will be on draft. This month’s featured artists is L’Andrae’ Bradley. Admission is free.

Artist Bio:
L’Andrae’ Bradley is an artist, that was born, and mostly, raised in Lima, Ohio. He graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1994. He currently resides in Columbus, Ohio and has been included in various exhibitions though out Columbus, Ohio, Virginia and the United Kingdom. Along with creating art, L’Andrae’ Bradley is a cook and the lead vocalist for Central Ohio’s heavy metal band Dark Revenant.

On Saturday, October 1, Stone Village Art Gallery presents “Whispers” by photographer, Mitch Geiser.
In Mitch’s own words, “My focus for this show is to share the small details of everyday life that we tend to miss out on. Specifically in nature there is much we miss unless we take a closer look. In light of this in my show I’ll be sharing a line of up close ups in nature to give viewers a refreshing look at an everyday plant or scene.”
In addition to Mitch’s new exhibit, hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available for gallery guests.

 Saturday, October 1st, Opening Reception (free admission 6pm-10pm) for LatinoMoji! This Kickstarter Event and INTERACTIVE Fine Art Installation incorporates Hispanic food preparations for your sampling along with the related bold digital prints by Jesús Angel Walle Ortega, a series of works inspired by our featured artist’s current online emoji design project, “LatinoMoji”. Come and support this artist-designer’s culturally-pertinent creation. Walle was raised in both Illinois and Mexico and has resided and worked in Columbus since graduating with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design (2014). His exhibition extends though October 29, 2016 (during  regular gallery hours).

Columbus Open Studio & Stage (COSS) is a two-day event that provides an opportunity for the Columbus creative community to open their studio and stage doors to the public, shining a light on the creative process and practice.

COSS is a self-guided tour of individual studios and partner locations with scheduled tours of performing arts organizations. Studios will offer finished artwork, works-in-progress and demonstrations. Partners will provide programming, demonstrations, and map pick-up (Sept. 22-Oct. 9). Stage venues will share a behind-the-scenes look at the areas the audience doesn’t get to see. Attendees will have an opportunity to speak with creatives about their process from idea to completion.

Alternative Fashion Mob: Halloween Clothing Swap

Have any clothes or accessories that you loved once… but just don’t wear anymore? Of course you do! Bring those gently used garments and accessories over to The Grandview Public Library.
You can SHOP FOR FREE amongst items dropped off by other local fashion lovers, and replace your old items. Clean out your closet AND get a new wardrobe – WIN-WIN!
Shop for your costume! There will be a makeup artist on-hand giving tutorials on how to create a realistic-looking flesh wound. Great for zombies, accident victims, dead rockstars, and more!
Items will be sorted by size & type — all sizes and styles are encouraged! Don’t hesitate to include your shoes, belts, accessories, bags, etc. along with your garments.
(Please make sure anything you bring is clean — no undergarments unless they are new with tags on — nothing that’s got holes or parts missing. You know. Please just make sure anything you bring is totally not gross.)
$5 donation suggested.
