Last year, the event had more than 750 guests attend, featured over 100 pieces of original artwork from artists locally (and nationally), and included great food and beverages, the presentation of our annual Recovery Award, and much more.
The Art of Recovery is the main funding source for the Fresh A.I.R. Gallery. Proceeds from the event directly support the gallery’s mission and programming. Fresh A.I.R. Gallery exhibits the work by individuals affected by mental illness and/or substance use disorders. They educate the community and work to break down the stigma of mental illness and substance use disorders by bringing focus to the artistic vision. Since opening their doors in 2004, they have shown more than 60 exhibitions and displayed the work of more than 200 artists. Many of their exhibits demonstrate the courage and struggles of the artists as they combat stigma and address social issues. Fresh A.I.R. Hospice of Central Ohio is pleased to present our first Stretch & Sip to the Columbus community!
Stretch & Sip is a pop-up yoga brunch served with a side of shopping. We’ll start the day off with a 45-minute yoga class taught by THANK Yoga. Paired with some great local food and a delectable brunch drink tasting provided by Middlewest Spirits. Various vendors will be there for you to do some pre-holiday shopping, great raffle prizes, and more!
A casual friend-raiser, this event will help raise awareness and support the mission of our not-for-profit hospice during National Hospice Month. When you choose to support Hospice of Central Ohio, each dollar given will impact multiple patients and their families right here in Central Ohio. Our team cares for nearly 300 patients daily—care that goes far beyond the Medicare “minimum”.
Because of your generosity, patients will be able to die comfortably and with dignity, and families will able to receive much-needed education and bereavement support.

Art from Nature Materials Collection: Iuka Ravine Sculpture
Saturday 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
The Iuka Ravine sculpture is back on track! Local artist Walter Herrmann is nationally recognized for creating unique natural sculptures that appear to defy physics, yet seamlessly integrate with their surroundings. Herrmann has been selected to construct a temporary/tactical art piece as part of the University District Arts & Character Plan. The art sculpture, to be located in Iuka Ravine Park, will utilize wood materials sourced from the park itself. Invasive species will be targeted as building materials. Community members who would like to help collect materials and rid Iuka Park of invasive species are invited to Saturday’s event. Herrmann will be present to explain his sculpting methods and answer questions.
Please dress appropriately to work outdoors! Wear long sleeves, pants, and bring gloves. Any gardening tools to cut small branches will also be helpful. Volunteers will first gather at the Iuka Park sign adjacent to North Fourth Street.

Dublin Arts Council’s Wine and Craft Beer Tasting Fundraiser

Join friends, neighbors, business leaders and members of Dublin Arts Council‘s board to sample an array of fine red and white wines, craft beers and small plate tastings in support of the arts. The event takes place throughout the main level of the beautiful historic Dublin Arts Center, overlooking the Center’s sloping grounds and the Scioto River.
Guests will have an exclusive preview of the exhibition, Masayuki Miyajima: Black, White, Grey, a stunning exhibition of functional Japanese ceramics that will open to the public on Nov. 17. Masa’s elegant, handcrafted stoneware and porcelain objects are created from his studio and kiln just outside the town of Mashiko, Japan, Dublin’s Friendship City. His artwork is highly sought after and his exhibitions at Dublin Arts Council often sell out.

There are a number of ways to be involved–teach a recurring class, special workshop, guest lecture, family and date night event.
CIF’s Makers are interested in creative, educational experiences that range from working with physical tools to digital tech, from fine to functional arts, small business resources from accounting to marketing, to general life hacking.

Award winning artist, Janis Mars Wunderlich, has exhibited nationally and internationally and has led workshops and lectures throughout North America. Janis will demonstrate her hand-building, detailing and glazing techniques, and will also talk about the Meissen Porcelain research she’s been doing in Germany.

In addition, we will host a bowl exchange and encourage all makers to bring a bowl from your collection, leaving with a different one created by a fellow artist. Please bring a hand made bowl or small piece of work to exchange.
