Being part Irish myself, I always look forward to this holiday and the wearin’ of the green and festivities that surround it. This year, I am busily getting my house ready to put on the market so I can make the long awaited move to Florida but I still plan on celebrating a little with fellow Irishmen and women! BUT that is NOT the only thing happening this weekend. As always, there is art to see, enjoy and purchase as you SUPPORT LOCAL while wearing green (and that is totally a green thing to do!)

Friday 3-4 p.m.
Fresh AI.R. Gallery invites you to attend a talk with Columbus artist Gloria Molyneux. Gloria’s talk marks the conclusion of her exhibit, Breathe & Bloom, on display at the gallery since February 8. She will discuss her experience with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and how art has facilitated her recovery.
Breathe & Bloom is Gloria’s first public visualization of how her brain has worked through trauma toward healing. She utilizes charcoal drawings, mixed media paintings, and collage to explore her experiences. “Sometimes, the darkness in our lives is due to our choices. Sometimes, it is due to others’ choices. But I believe light can be found even in the darkest of nights,” she writes in her artist’s statement.
Light refreshments will be served. Hope to see you there!
This Friday will be especially exciting at the Cultural Arts Center as Creative Arts of Women (CAW) has it’s first show of the year. Sorry that I have been too busy to take part this time but I KNOW that these women will blow your socks off!
